Halla Vilhjálmsdóttir (born 30 January 1982) is an Icelandic television, film actress and singer.

Biography

Vilhjálmsdóttir graduated in 2004 at the Guildford School of Acting in Guildford, Surrey, she worked in this time for ITV and the BBC.[1]

Movie career

Vilhjálmsdóttir earned 2002 her role in the Icelandic drama film Gemsar and starred 2006 in her first lead role in the Comedy film Áramótaskaup 2006. One year later in 2007 portrayed Beta in British-Icelandic Fantasy comedy film Dorks and Damsels.[2] In 2009 earned her first international role and played an Prisoner in the British mystery thriller film Ghost Machine under the pseudonym Hatla Williams.

Television career

Vilhjálmsdóttir hosted 2006 the Icelandic version of X Factor.[3] She played 2008 one of the lead roles in the Icelandic Crime television series "Mannaveiðar".[4]

Stage career

She acted in the stage plays Hafið Bláa, Footloose, Túskildingsóperan and Salka Valka in the Söngskólinn í Reykjavík 5 stig.[5]

Music career

The Soprano singer performed the song Roses in the 4th Semi-Final of the Iceland preliminaries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.[6] Vilhjálmsdóttir is the female lead singer of the Icelandic Pop band Villimadur.[7]

Personal life

In 2007 she was for a short time in a relationship with Hollywood star Jude Law.[8]
